Anita joined Southdown in 1997 in a support worker role and has been in her current role since July 2012. Over the years she has worked in a number of frontline and management roles at Southdown, including qualifying as a trainer and facilitating training courses for workers across the organisation.
Anita has over 24 years of experience working with people with learning disabilities. Previously, she worked in a number of support settings, and roles included coordinating a respite service. She has also been actively involved in volunteering to combine her passion of music and supporting vulnerable people.
In her role as regional manager for Southdown’s West Sussex learning disability services, Anita ensures we enable our clients to live the life they want to. She oversees the strategic direction of the services and provides support to managers and staff as needed.
Anita says, “I have a real passion to ensure that people with a learning disability are afforded the same opportunities as everybody else. I know from personal experience the challenges the whole family can face when trying to secure the right support for a loved one’s individual needs.”
