Brighton and Hove Recovery College, offer educational courses as a route to recovery from mental health challenges. All their courses are FREE and designed and delivered by people with lived experience of mental health challenges, together with clinical staff and other professionals.
The College is provided in partnership with the Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust and as part of the Community Roots network of mental health support.
Their upcoming Autumn term will run from 27th September to 3rd December.
For the first time since the Coronavirus pandemic, they are able to offer some sessions in a socially-distanced classroom setting, as well as continuing to offer online sessions via a software application called Zoom. Classroom-based sessions will take place at the College building based at Frederick Place near Brighton Station. You can read all about their Covid safety measures in the new prospectus.
They are also introducing four new topics this term: ‘Creativity and Self-Care for Carers’, ‘Living with Grief and Loss’, ‘Money Matters’ and ‘Working for Wellness’. The new ‘Creativity for Carers’ course has been designed and will be delivered in collaboration with the Carers Centre.
The College team look forward to welcoming new and returning students.
