People in Partnership (East Sussex)
Helping shape mental health support across East Sussex
We want everybody with mental health challenges, their families and carers to have the opportunity to help shape the experience and quality of mental health support across Hastings, Rother, Eastbourne, Hailsham and Seaford.
We work alongside people to involve them in the design and delivery of services (across primary care, secondary care, crisis and acute).
We also work with mental health providers and organisations, supporting them to engage with their local communities to develop support tailored to need.
Join our team
We are currently recruiting for ‘Lead Strategic Volunteers’ to join our team.
Together, we will work with local communities to identify concerns, themes and issues of mental health provision in their area. You will be the ‘eyes and ears’ of mental health provision, sharing issues and information gathered with Commissioners.
Through training, meetings and developing strong support networks, you will also empower communities to improve services.
For more information on becoming a ‘Lead Strategic Volunteer’, download the document below or contact us using the details shown below.
Have your say
Do you have lived experience of mental health challenges? Do you care for somebody with mental health challenges?
If yes, we would love to invite you to share your experiences and have your say on mental health provision in your area.
Alongside our Lead Strategic Volunteers, we will host ‘Network Meetings’ at Southdown’s Wellbeing Centres across East Sussex. They will provide opportunity to share your thoughts, experiences and ideas on mental health provision. After the meetings, we will share the discussions we had with mental health providers and organisations to support future service developments. The meetings will be held quarterly at the Hastings, Bexhill and Eastbourne Wellbeing Centres.
Dates of upcoming meetings are:
- Monday the 3rd December 2018, 10.30am - 1.30pm at the Hastings Wellbeing Centre (Carisbrooke House, Stockleigh Road, St. Leonards on Sea, East Sussex, TN38 0JP)
- Tuesday the 4th December 2018, 10.30 - 1.30pm at the Eastbourne Wellbeing Centre (Saffrons Rd, Eastbourne, BN21 1DG)
- Monday the 10th December 2018, 10.30am - 1.30pm at the Bexhill Wellbeing Centre (73a London Rd, Bexhill, East Sussex, TN39 3LB)
- Tuesday 15th January 2019, 10.30-12.30 at 1 Market Street, Hailsham, East Sussex, BN271AQ: Book tickets here or contact Catherine Lulham
Everybody is welcome. In particular, we would like to encourage minority and under-represented groups and people to come along to ensure the whole community is involved.
