Community Roots' First Review - October 2019 - March 2021
We are pleased to be able to share Community Roots’ First Review report with you covering the first 18 months of the network, from October 2019 – March 2021.
Funded by NHS Brighton and Hove CCG and Brighton and Hove City Council, Community Roots brings together 16 local providers to strengthen, develop and integrate mental health support for different levels of need, with Southdown as lead provider.
Martin Dominy, Head of Service, Mental Health at Southdown said:
“Over the past year, Southdown and the local providers we're working with have formed a really positive partnership to drive forward a shared ambition to improve wellness for people across the city of Brighton and Hove.
Working closely together has given us all increased insight and knowledge of what each provider offers. This has enabled us to collectively provide better support for people around their mental health.”
Neil Blanchard, Chief Executive at Southdown said:
"The commissioning of Community Roots has been provided a great opportunity, particularly with the current additional challenges of the Coronavirus pandemic, for effective collaboration of voluntary sector providers and our statutory providers to ensure community mental health services can work flexibly to meet the needs of local people. The first year, despite the additional complexities, has been really successful and we are confident that the Lead Provider model will greatly assist the continued strategic development and transformation of community based mental health services over coming years."
