Phone Support For Vulnerable People Shielding Across East Sussex
Over the past few months, colleagues across our East Sussex homelessness prevention and mental health services have been going above and beyond their day-to-day work by providing telephone support for vulnerable people across the county who have been shielding.
On behalf of East Sussex County Council, colleagues have made contact with over 1,800 vulnerable people on the NHS shielded list to ensure that they have access to medication, food and to help break social isolation and fear - an amazing achievement!
Tamsin Peart, Strategic Commissioning Manager for Adult Social Care at East Sussex County Council, said,
“Please thank all your colleagues who have been involved in this work. We know the phone calls have made a difference to local residents.”
Steve Hickman-Brown, Director for our Community Support Services, added,
“I am so proud of the team for doing as much as they have and maintained their day to day work. Well done to everybody involved.”
