Preston Park Recovery Centre Artists Open House (open every Sat & Sun in May)
Every weekend in May, our Preston Park Recovery Centre will be welcoming people to its Artists Open House, which, once again, exhibits an impressive and diverse range of artwork created by clients.
61 clients, some of whom are seasoned exhibitors but, for many, it is the first time they have shown their work, have created over 100 pieces of artwork including a diverse mix of sculpture, photography and painting.
As well as viewing the artwork on display, visitors can create their own ‘postcard art’, take part in a ‘Finding Trail’ for the young and young at heart and enjoy a cup of tea and a cake in the Centre’s beautiful and tranquil garden.
A new addition to the Open House this year is an interactive piece exploring how body image relates to mental wellbeing, which ties into the theme for Mental Health Awareness Week running from the 13-19 May.
This is the fifth year the Centre is involved in Brighton and Hove’s Artists Open Houses festival as part of the Beyond the Level Trail.
It is a brilliant showcase of creativity in a lovely atmosphere. Everyone is welcome - do pop along if you can.
The Open House is open every Saturday and Sunday in May from 3-6pm at the Preston Park Recovery Centre, 18 Preston Park Avenue, Brighton (opposite Preston Park near London Road station).
