Southdown recognised as an Investor in People

We're delighted to announce, we've been awarded a gold accreditation against the Investors in People Standard, demonstrating our commitment to high performance through investing in our employees.

Established 45 years ago, we have grown substantially over the years and today support over 8,300 people each year and employ 950 staff who work across a range of homelessness prevention, mental health, housing and learning disability services.

Investors in People is the international standard for people management, defining what it takes to lead, support and manage people effectively to achieve sustainable results. Underpinning the Standard is the Investors in People framework, reflecting the latest workplace trends, essential skills and effective structures required to outperform in any industry. Investors in People enables organisations to benchmark against the best in the business on an international scale.

Paul Devoy, Head of Investors in People, said: “We’d like to congratulate Southdown, Investors in People accreditation is the sign of a great employer, an outperforming place to work and a clear commitment to success. Southdown should be extremely proud of their achievement.”

Commenting on the award, Vikki Hayward-Cripps, Deputy Chief Executive at Southdown, said: “We’re delighted that our commitment to being the best employer we can be has been recognised in this way, particularly as the accreditation is based partly on our staff’s feedback. Only by listening to our staff’s experiences can we provide a supportive, happy and productive culture to work within.”

Along with a gold award from Investors in People, we recently were named one of the top ten family-friendly employers in the UK by Working Families.
