About the service
Community Moves provides accommodation and support to help people ‘move on’ from temporary, supported accommodation.
Clients of the service are offered a 12 month temporary tenancy with Southdown alongside support to find permanent accommodation, maintain a tenancy and to live independently.
How the service works
Once a client is referred to the service, they will be allocated temporary accommodation. They will also be assigned a named Support Officer who will provide one to one support to address issues that may be preventing them from successfully living independently, for example, budgeting, engaging with landlords and managing correspondence. A range of workshops is also available for clients to attend on areas including, money, employment and finding and keeping accommodation.
Clients are required to actively look for suitable independent accommodation during their time with the service.
How to access
Referrals to the service come via the Supported Housing Panel at the Brighton and Hove City Council.
Staff should send a Transfer within Supported Assessment form and a recent risk assessment to the Supported Housing Panel at supportedhousing@brighton-hove.gov.uk.
