Our employer awards
We strive for excellence in all areas of our activities including our role as an employer. To help attract and keep the very best staff we measure our employment practice against the best of private, public and not-for-profit organisations.
The awards we have been given in recognition of our activities to be the best employer we can include:
Top 100 Best Companies
As a result of our employees’ feedback in the Best Companies survey, we have been named 52nd in a shortlist of the 100 best not-for-profit organisations to work for in the UK. This is the sixth time our commitment to our employees has been recognised by the Best Companies survey, the largest employee survey in the UK which reveals how people really perceive their work environment.
Top Ten Employer for Working Families
For the sixth year running, we've been named as one of the top ten employers in the UK for working families. This award is given to the most flexible and family-friendly employers in the country.
Investors in People
We are accreditated by the best practice people management standard, Investors in People, as a 'Gold standard' employer (a standard awarded to the top 2% of Investors in People companies).
Disability Confident Employer
As a 'disability confident employer', we recruit and retain disabled people and recognise how their skills can benefit our business. The Disability Confident scheme aims to help employers make the most of the opportunities provided by employing disabled people; it is voluntary and has been developed by employers and disabled people’s representatives.
As a member of Mindful Employer we are committed to providing information and support for staff that experience stress, anxiety, depression or other mental health conditions.
We support the Government’s Age Positive initiative which brings together research and information from employers on effectively managing an ageing workforce of all generations.
Tommy's Pregnancy at Work Accreditation Programme
Tommy's exists to provide information to parents-to-be about health during pregnancy. They also fund a national programme of research into miscarriage, stillbirth and premature birth. Tommy's Prenancy Accreditation Programme is an initiative developed to promote the health of pregnant women in the workplace.
