Our Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) approach, embedded throughout our services, enables us to provide the very best care and support.
Our PBS approach focuses on understanding challenging behaviour (41% of the 167 people we support have additional complex behaviours) and tailoring support in response. It is also built on an understanding that effective communication between our clients and staff, as well as a person-centred approach, is essential to providing a quality service.
We have a central team to lead on our PBS approach who work collaboratively with our learning disability services across Sussex.

Our Positive Behaviour Support training and Restrictive Physical Interventions Training is formally certified by the British Institute of Learning Disability Association of Certified Training (BILD ACT) as meeting the Restraint Reduction Network (RRN) standards.
Anita Beverton, Regional Manager for our West Sussex Learning Disability Services, says, “We are delighted that, following a rigorous certification process, our training meets the RRN standards and this will ensure that best practice is achieved across our services. We are now recognised nationally as an organisation that is able to train to the RRN standards around restrictive physical interventions.”
