UOK wellbeing service

The UOK Wellbeing Service offers free mental health and wellbeing support for adults aged 18 and over living in Brighton & Hove or East Sussex.

You do not need to have a diagnosed mental health condition. Support may be helpful if you are experiencing anxiety, low mood, loneliness, difficult life changes, low confidence, or feeling overwhelmed or unsure where to turn.

Depending on what matters to you, support could include:

  • one-to-one conversations
  • peer support groups
  • social spaces and community activities
  • education and learning
  • help to find, return to, or stay in work, education or volunteering
  • help connecting with another service

You can attend a walk-in welcome session without an appointment or book a Saturday telephone appointment. Groups and activities are available through UOK Wellbeing Service neighbourhoods across Brighton & Hove and East Sussex.

You can use support in any UOK Wellbeing Service neighbourhood. You do not have to use the neighbourhood closest to where you live.

How to access support

You can access support by either of the following ways:

Walk-in Welcome Sessions

Drop in to talk with a member of the team about your mental health and wellbeing, explore what matters to you and find out what support is available.

If you live in Brighton & Hove or East Sussex, you can access support at any UOK Wellbeing Service location.

You don’t need to understand the mental health system or know the name of a service before asking for help. The Sussex-wide How Are You Really Feeling? resource helps you explore support based on how you’re feeling and what you need.

It has been co-developed by the NHS, voluntary and community organisations—including Southdown—local authorities, primary care and people with lived experience.
