What to expect

When you arrive, ring the bell at the front door. A member of the team will ask you some initial questions before welcoming you inside. We do this with everyone who visits to help us provide support safely.

You will be welcomed into a supportive space where you can talk about how you are feeling. Our team can listen and help you manage emotional distress.

You can choose to sit quietly or talk with others. A quieter, private room is available for conversations with a member of the team. Calming activities and sensory tools are also available if you would like to use them.

Staying Well is provided by Southdown in partnership with Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust.

You do not need to understand the mental health system or know the name of the service you need before asking for help:

You don’t need to understand the mental health system or know the name of a service before asking for help. The Sussex-wide How Are You Really Feeling? resource helps you explore support based on how you’re feeling and what you need.

It has been co-developed by the NHS, voluntary and community organisations—including Southdown—local authorities, primary care and people with lived experience.
