Support Worker Recruitment Event

When: Monday 16 March 2026, 10am – 4pm
Where: The Jubilee Library, Jubilee Street, Brighton, BN1 1GE
Salary: £13.34 per hour plus comprehensive benefits package

The service:

This is a flagship service for six adults with learning disabilities. Each person has their own purpose-built flat with a small garden. Our clients have mainly moved out of long-stay hospitals or school environments into the community, and you’ll support them to live as independently as possible.

What will happen at the event:

As little or as much as you like! Our team will be there to talk you through the positions, service, and benefits. If you’d like to apply for a position, you can do this on the day – we’ll also be holding interviews on the day.

What we’re looking for:

You don’t need qualifications or experience to be a support worker. You need to have a good sense of fun, a consistent approach, and be able to stay calm under pressure.

What to bring:

It’s useful to bring your CV, but it’s not essential. No appointment needed – drop in any time between 10am and 4pm.

  • earn £12.10 – £13.31 per hour (depending on location)

  • assist with support and care services to people who have learning disabilities and sometimes physical disabilities, within their own home and out in the community
  • support clients to continue to develop skills and confidence in all aspects of daily life
  • be allocated to one of our services in Sussex based on your location
  • be compassionate, creative and have a good sense of humour
  • not need experience as we offer a full and thorough training and induction package, as well as a supportive team environment to work in

You can also become a Bank Support Worker…

This role is ideal for people who may be looking to take a step into support work or those with a flexible approach to work. As a Southdown Bank Support Worker, you will have the same role as our permanent staff members, with the following differences:

  • you will provide cover in services when permanent Support Workers are on leave, off sick or on training courses. This can be planned well in advance or at short notice. The more flexible you are, the more work you could be offered.
  • you will earn £12.88 per hour (depending on the service)
