Business Strategy

As Southdown reaches its 50th anniversary, we celebrate extraordinary achievements and successes.

We have grown and flourished from a small voluntary group providing housing for people using mental health services to the largest and leading not-for-profit provider of housing, care and support in Sussex. We deliver exceptional services, that have saved and changed lives.

However, following significant growth and diversification, we are now at a tipping point in terms of scale and maturity. We are no longer a small business. And, we operate in an increasingly complex and competitive environment, solely reliant on income from commissioners of public services.

This requires us to think and act differently if we are to secure a sustainable future and successfully pursue our mission… To provide exceptional community support services across Sussex which enable people to live well.

To help make our mission a reality, we have refreshed our five-year Business Strategy for 2022-27 which has six objectives that are underpinned by our values, behaviours and ways of working.
