Job Description: Southdown is the largest not-for-profit provider of care, support, and housing in Sussex. We’ve been helping people access stable accommodation, mental health and care services since 1972, now counting over 900 people as part of our team. Are you ready to shape the future of learning in a values-driven organisation? We’re seeking a strategic and people-focused Learning and Development Business Partner (LDBP) to act as the vital link between our central L&D function and operational teams. You’ll work closely with service leads across areas such as Mental Health, Housing, and Learning Disabilities to diagnose workforce needs and co-create impactful learning plans. Your role will be to ensure that every learning solution—whether eLearning or in-person—is tailored, trauma-informed, and aligned with both service-specific goals and our wider organisational strategy. As an LDBP, your core purpose is to “diagnose, shape, and champion learning solutions that meet the unique needs of business units, while ensuring alignment to organisational L&D strategy.” You’ll lead on role-specific training needs analysis, design bespoke programmes for diverse client groups, and evaluate learning impact through real-world service outcomes. You’ll also coach and empower managers to foster a culture of continuous learning through developmental supervision and feedback. If you’re passionate about making learning meaningful, agile, and embedded in everyday practice, this is your opportunity to make a lasting difference. We will help you to gain valuable qualifications, continually develop your skills and build a great career with the largest provider of housing, care and support in Sussex.
