Team: Executive Team

Prior to his current role in housing, Jim’s career background spans back 20 years, from employment within specialist mental health inpatient settings, work with homeless and forensic client groups to working at a senior level overseeing accommodation-based floating support services for a homeless charity.

Jim first joined Southdown as Housing Division Manager in 2011, becoming Head of Housing in 2013 and Director of Housing in 2018.

As Director of Housing for Southdown, Jim oversees all aspects of our housing management, tenancy sustainment, development and property services functions across Southdown’s diverse range of specialist supported housing. Jim also holds responsibility for Southdown’s Housing Strategy. Recognising the current housing crisis in the UK, Southdown have an ambition to increase its provision of housing for the most vulnerable.

Jim says: “From my background of working with homeless and insecurely housed clients, I gained an awareness of the role that safe, secure and well maintained housing can play in supporting our clients and tenants to recover and begin to live a fuller life. I am passionate about delivering housing and support interventions that are able to have a transformative affect upon the lives of our tenants and the most vulnerable in society.”
