Assertive Outreach & Move On Service
Southdown’s Assertive Outreach & Move On Service supports people who are sleeping rough or at imminent risk of being homeless.
This housing support service is integral to the East Sussex, Rough Sleeping Prevention and Recovery Programme that brings together support providers and local authorities working in partnership to end rough sleeping by improving access to services, temporary accommodation and longer term housing.
Outreach & Move On support
Southdown’s Outreach Workers work within the Eastbourne, Lewes, Wealden, Hastings and Rother areas, engaging directly with people who are sleeping rough. Outreach Workers will discuss and assess the needs of each individual to ensure we can link them with the services and support they need. Where possible we will refer people directly into emergency accommodation as the first step away from homelessness. We can then continue to support people from emergency or temporary accommodation, into longer term, suitable housing in the private or social sector, or specialist supported accommodation options.
