Recommissioning of Mental Health Support Services in East Sussex

Posted on 26 July 2023

East Sussex County Council, in collaboration with the Sussex Integrated Care System, are undertaking a procurement process to recommission a range of community mental health services. These have a total contract value of £3.6million.

The delivery model will appoint a Lead Provider, who will coordinate delivery of all the combined services both through direct provision, and via sub-contracting arrangement with other providers.

Southdown, as well as currently delivering the majority of the services, also have existing experience and expertise acting as an inclusive Lead Provider in Brighton and Hove for the UOK mental health network partnership. We consider ourselves to be well placed and have the capabilities and resources to take on leadership of the new model in East Sussex.

Ahead of the formal recommissioning exercise that will commence in early September, we wish to engage and develop relationships with potential partners, either to help us deliver services, or to align their current services with the new model. Mapping of current services and developing new initiatives and opportunities will be vital to ensure that the new service offer fully meets the needs of our local communities.
