About the service

Our seven Wellbeing Centres, located across East Sussex, provide a range of community-based mental health and wellbeing support to enable you to get well, stay well and prevent crisis.

We provide this service as part of the UOK East Sussex network and the East Sussex Community Network.

What support is available?

Our team of friendly, trained Recovery Workers and Peer Support Workers (people with lived experience of mental health challenges) will work with you to develop a personalised wellbeing plan and support you to access activities and groups at the Centres and in your local community.

“When I visited, I was struck by the commitment, warmth and experience of the team and its warm, welcoming and relaxed atmosphere.”

Group support

We offer a wide variety of person-centred groups that are offered online and face-to-face, within our Centres and in outdoor locations.

Group activities range from walking, yoga, mindfulness, stress management, peer social support groups and much more. Our timetable is regularly reviewed and adjusted in line with feedback from our clients.

We can also offer you one to one sessions during assessment if needed to support you to attend group sessions.

Our Centre activity timetables can be viewed and downloaded from the Downloads section at the bottom of this page.

Am I eligible?

The services are available for adults (aged 18 +) living in East Sussex who are experiencing issues affecting their mental health and wellbeing.

How do I apply?

We’re reopening access to our Wellbeing Centres

You’ll be able to drop in to selected Centres without a referral and speak to a member of our team. These Open Access sessions are designed to make it easier for you to get support when you need it.

You can just come in, have a look around, ask questions, and if you’d like to join our groups, we’ll look to complete a short needs assessment with you. If you’re not ready to join, we’ll offer information and signposting to other services.

This new model of Open Access will begin in Hailsham and Uckfield from October week commencing 13th October 2025 for:

  • Uckfield Wellbeing Centre; Every Tuesday, 12.30pm-2.30pm
  • Hailsham Wellbeing Centre; Every Thursday, 10am-12pm

Our four other Wellbeing centres – Hastings, Bexhill, Eastbourne, Newhaven – will also move to Open Access model from November onwards.
