Southdown recognised through Great Care Employer campaign
Posted on 26 June 2026
Southdown has been recognised through West Sussex County Council’s Great Care Employer campaign, which celebrates adult social care providers that put staff first.
The scheme supports care organisations to review and strengthen their employment practices, with a focus on creating positive workplaces where colleagues feel supported, valued and able to develop.
As part of the process, Southdown’s current practices were reviewed against the four Great Care Employer themes:
- Pay and benefits
- Security and flexibility
- Learning and development
- Supported and valued
We were pleased to meet each of these areas comfortably, reflecting the work already taking place across Southdown to support colleagues and create a positive, values-led working culture.
This recognition reflects Southdown’s ongoing commitment to creating a workplace where colleagues feel supported, valued and able to develop. It also recognises the contribution of people across Southdown who help make our organisation a supportive and values-led place to work every day.
Eve Clennell, our Head of People and Experience, shared:
“Being awarded the ‘We are a Great Care Employer’ accreditation is a fantastic achievement for Southdown. It recognises our ongoing commitment to creating a supportive, inclusive and high-quality working environment for our teams and, ultimately, our clients – who are why we are here and what we all care about deeply.”
“This accreditation reflects the value we place on our people and the standards we set as an employer, and it reinforces our dedication to attracting, developing and retaining talented colleagues who deliver outstanding care every day,” she added.
